Why does saving the cheerleader save the world

If anybody saved the world,it was Nathen! Heroes Answers. Flickerflame said: In the original timeline, Sylar was the one who exploded not Peter. Because of Hiro's message Peter became the bomb. It was originally Sylar. In the graphic novel which shows 5 years in the future from Hiro's point of view, you see him remembering Sylar exploding.

Flickerflame posted over a year ago. It was only in the second timeline the one shown in 5 Years Gone that Peter had really exploded but Nathan was lying to the world Flickerflame posted over a year ago.

When Nathan arrives in the nick of time to whisk Peter to a safe distance, he quotes a line Claire said to him earlier, " the future isn't set in stone. Had Claire not been present, Nathan probably would've escaped the city as per Angela's scheme. Working the plot back even further, the only reason Claire gives Nathan a piece of her mind is because of her friendship with Peter Petrelli.

If Sylar had killed Claire and stolen her regeneration powers, she might not have been alive to change Nathan's mind. Even supposing Claire could've regenerated after being attacked by Sylar, it's still Peter's rescue that saves the world. Hiro tells Peter to save the cheerleader, introducing him to Claire and establishing a sense of destiny. Peter tells Claire about the explosion and trying to stop it, making her buy into his hopefulness.

I don't have much to substatiate my belief really, but I still think that the statements are related, and that Claire has more to do with saving the world and Peters story than just the contribution of her power.

Originally posted by DiscoDyslexic What would an unstoppable Sylar have to do with "saving the world"? I'm not for sure how exactly, but I can come up with different scenarios: 1. EDIT: If Sylar become unstoppable, knowing he is a bad guy, this could have very bad results for this planet. So by preventing Sylar from his self-healing ability, he is still stoppable and therefore he is less of a thread to our world. I know for certain that Sylar poses a grave threat to those with powers, but I wouldn't go so far as to say that he poses a great threat to the world as a whole, though I see youre point.

A nuclear Sylar is Scary, But he's a serial killer, not a mass murderer. It seems then that the cheerleader needlessly draws attention away from the true crisis, which would lead me to question Hiro why he didn't tell Peter, "Stop or prevent Sylar, Save the world" It's the fact that Hiro didn't mention any body but Claire that makes me think that she is more that just her ability. I must say that I'm confused.

There are so many questions and so few answers I still believe that part of the "Safe the cheerleader. Save the world" meaning is to prevent Sylar from becoming unstoppable.

But thanks to this thread I've been rethinking my theories, and I am starting to believe that the second part of the meaning of saving the world is that Peter needs the self healing ability in order to save the world. But I believe there is a third meaning to this frase, which I haven't figured out yet: Peter didn't need to safe Claire in order to gain the self-healing ability, he only needed to be close to her for a few moments in order to gain her ability. So "Safe the cheerleader.

Save the world" cannot mean that Peter needs to become self-healing and then safe the world. Save the world" So the third meaning of this frase has to do something with Claire.
