What happens if you interrupt the execution in solitude

Roggvir , a Nord warrior , is a citizen of Solitude who worked as a city guard. According to his sister Greta , he opened the city gates to allow Ulfric Stormcloak into the city when he first came with the hidden intention of challenging the then-High King Torygg. After Ulfric killed Torygg in the challenge, he tried to escape the city, and Roggvir again opened the gate for him. Accounts of the incident vary wildly among the citizens; most claim that he was an accomplice in the murder.

Greta believes that he was doing his job, and had no way of knowing what Ulfric had done. Raven Dreamer Raven Dreamer k gold badges silver badges bronze badges. I was wondering this too.

If not at least you can steal the amulet off of him. I still have to go there, I'll see what I can do Challenge accepted. Not sure about Roggvir, the guards like to kill him quickly when interrupted.

In Markath, though, the lady is able to be saved. Attack the guy too early and the guards attack you, too late and she dies. I shouted at the guy and the guards swarmed him, saving the woman.

Not positive, but it seemed that every NPC was giving me the "This person is busy" message when I tried to talk to them. But maybe attacking would have done something? Show 1 more comment. Tamara Wijsman Tamara Wijsman That's weird. I followed him the first time I attempted this when he ran away and clearly saw a random imperial guard in the city take him down with an arrow.

Perhaps he was aiming at me and he was simply caught in the crossfire? Maybe the fact that he was hostile to the captain had something to do with it. One time he sat on the stairs and another time he ran into a door, so his destination seems random but I'm not sure. Anyway, it was fun, but sadly a waste of time. Tried to capture a video for YouTube, but my character is not good enough to actually make him survive Yes, but the game will kill him automatically, without reason.

Sad to say, but the whole Stormcloak side of the conflict is a ploy by the Thalmor to weaken both Skyrim and the Empire of Cyrodiil so they can probably genocide both after they defeat both.

Immediately after the incident, Roggvir, who was presumably on gate guard duty opened the city gates and allowed Ulfric to escape. For this, he was branded a traitor and sentenced to death. He was a proud Nord and Stormcloak sympathizer, defending Ulfric's actions as honorable even in the face of death. His sister, Greta, stopped going to the Temple of the Divines after his death, while his niece Svari was also very upset.

Addvar tried explaining to her that people must be held accountable for their actions, however this did not console her, but as he states "a child feels what she will. Captain Aldis , who presided over his execution, respected Roggvir, labelling him as a "fine and honorable man" when in conversation with the Dragonborn , although saying his execution was justified and necessary.

Also, after the crowd disperses at the execution, he looks down at Roggvir's corpse and says, "Damn shame Roggvir, you were a good man. Upon entering Solitude for the first time, the Dragonborn witnesses Roggvir's execution.

Before death, he exclaims that Ulfric challenged Torygg in single combat , and won honorably. As such, it was the way of the Nords to allow Ulfric to leave, as he had done nothing wrong.

Despite his claimed innocence, Roggvir is still executed for treason. If the Dragonborn tries to stop the execution, whether by attacking the guards or simply walking onto the execution platform, Roggvir will make a run for it. If the guards are distracted long enough, he can escape.
