Cervelo p2 which size

I slammed the stem and feel more comfortable.. I also ride a 54 caad Good luck on your purchase. Post 14 of 24 views. Post 15 of 24 views. Road bike is a 52cm CAAD9. Tri bike is a 51cm P3. Post 16 of 24 views. Tough general question without knowing details, aero, etc including your goals. I'm 5'10"" and was put on a 51cm-P2 initially. Now I'm riding a 54cm and the difference is huge I like it this way and I'm way more comfortable, powerful, etc! A friend of mine is about 5'7" using a 51cm and he's perhaps the 2nd fastest guy in the riding gang, he says he feels perfect on it other gang members are 6' or 6'1" and ride a 54cm.

I've also read many people regret going with 54 instead of 51 again, based on their particular limitations, goals, body angles, etc. Hope you find what works for you. Post 17 of 24 views. Your position makes all the difference I'm 6ft with a The other dimensions are easily dealt with Stack is by f a r th e most important d i mension. If you can get your bar low enough with a horizontal stem on the 54 then it's fine. If not, choose the smaller size. Post 18 of 24 views.

Thanks again, Nadine. Post 20 of 24 views. It's interesting you mention the weight distribution and stability. Maybe it comes down to individual preference. I am perched out over the front wheel quite a bit on my 51 P2, but it handles like a dream, whether going downhill, in the wind, going downhill in the wind, etc.

I'm way out over the front wheel on mine also. Don't know why that would hurt stabilit y. If anything, seems like more weight on the front w ould make it more stable and less effected b y wind.

Inst ead of a rearward weight bias that is more common, I have about the same weight on both wheels. Post deleted by Jie [ In reply to ]. Post 21 of 24 views. Post 22 of 24 views. Post 23 of 24 views. I'm genuinely not trying to be sarcastic here, but isn't the answer to the question 'what size tri bike do I need' ALWAYS 'get a bike fit from an experienced fitter'?

With the aero advantage you can be saving minutes and with the weight advantage you can be saving seconds. In a race against the clock both matter.

I found one shop that has one P2SL in stock, and that's a I'll try to arrange with the dealer I've been to, to swap the frame if it turns out I need a different size. Post by c50jim on Sun Aug 19, pm In response to your question of my earlier post about a 54 vs.

It was a 56 with an 8 cm stem, so riding with a 9 cm stem on a TT bike seems natural to me. I'd rather ride a short stem with no spacers. One other thing to be aware of with Cervelo is that they ship their TT bikes with different length seatposts based on frame size.

The 51 comes with their short post so you would need to be careful that the frame with that post would give you the necessary saddle height. Based on your long leg length, I doubt it. Post by choylifut on Mon Aug 20, am fwiw It really is that simple.

If you are between sizes, pick the smaller of the two. The Cervelo TT bike charts seem to throw people off. Post by Kraaf on Mon Aug 20, pm Thanks all, I'm ordering the 54, as I'm now convinced the 51 would be too small. My Road frame size is I do want to make sure I can get into a very steep and deep position.

Todd Kenyon at ttbikefit. I'm getting clip-ons probably the Profile design T2 and T2-wing bar , so I'll need a bit of space, but that seems plenty to play with. Once again: edit: I'll take my measuring tape when I pick it up.

Post by wogamax on Mon Aug 20, pm Wise move. You might have run out of post with your corrected You're almost there. Popular blog postings. Latest blog postings. At least with the smaller frame, you have the choice of going short and streched out with a longer stem , if you buy the 54, and it is too big, you can't make it any shorter. I have a Dolan TT frame in a 52, and I am about an inch taller give or take and it's fine with a mm stem.

To me shorter is definately better if your after adjustment. I have a Cervelo P2K in a 51 and I am 6ft tall. I have the seat set in the normal position not the agressive more forward position.

I also have a 10cm upward sloping Oval stem with no spacers under it. I do like a low position but have ridden longer events quite comfortably with a more upright position with 2 1cm spacers under the stem. Hope this helps. Thanks for all the input. The 54's reach is only about 1cm more, so that's not really the big difference. Headtube is 3cm more, but Todd Kenyon at ttbikefit.

So the 54 seems the way to go. The 51 would probably mean I'd need a lot of spacers and a stem with a lot of rise. You need to be a member in order to leave a comment.
